Canadian cyclist Kelsey Mitchell put an exclamation mark on Canada's Olympics winning gold in the women's sprint final against Emma Hinze of Germany on Thursday.

Mitchell had a specific gameplan for the final and executed it perfectly, taking the lead early and never looking back. She crossed the finish line in a time of 32.872 seconds, just ahead of Hinze's 33.142.

The gold medal is Mitchell's first Olympic medal.
