Couch: 3 quick takes on Michigan State football's 16-10 win over Florida Atlantic
Michigan State defense shined:
The Spartans defense played an impressive game on Saturday.
They held the Owls offense to just 267 total yards.
Florida Atlantic also were 0-for-13 on third down.
Spartans struggled on offense:
For the second consecutive game, the Spartans offense has sputtered.
Quarterback Payton Thorne completed just 13-of-26 passes for 162 yards.
Running back Jalen Berger was held to 36 yards on 12 carries.
This isn't exactly what we expected:
Coming into the season, Michigan State was expected to be one of the best teams in the Big Ten.
However, they have started the season 2-0 but they haven't looked particulary impressive doing so.
The Spartans will need to improve quickly if they want to compete for a championship.
